Only seven days to start the "Marathon des Sables", and David Saporta, one of our team mates, makes a brief reflection from his last participation in the Barcelona Marathon:
I practice some endurance sports since many years but when I registereed Marathon des Sables I discovered some unknown sensations.
The last of these sensations has been running an urban 42,195 km marathon (Barcelona, 2011 march 6th) as a normal training day. And it was a total quiet sensation: no nervous the previous days, deep sleeping the night before, enjoying the route and irrelevant record (3h40). Further, the sun was splendid.
All of this strongly contrasts with my friend Xavi suffering a lot. It was his second marathon after many years not running at all, and he hit the 32 km famous wall and finished exhausted.
Definitely, ‘Marathon des Sables' is another type of history
