FIRST STAGE FINISHED
Start MDS Perú

The WORLD NATURE EXPLORING team finished the first stage of the MARATHON DES SABLES PERU successfully, but it was really difficult: in the first 10Km. the participants ran on a very hard track, then entered a spectacular canyon with a dry river, where they suffered a lot of lack of air flow and high temperature, the rest of the stage was marked by a very soft sand that made it difficult to walk.

Due to the heat, many runners were evacuated due to dehydration, some of them have been out of the race. Unfortunately one of those affected was Jose Arimany, a member of our team, who finished the stage in a very dehydrated state. They gave him serum at the hospital and we hope he can start the stage today. Albert and Quim all fine, always considering the hardsness of everything.

Their classifications and the time they spent at the end of the first stage are:

  • Albert Bosch - position 41 - 05:27:30
  • Quim Tribó - position 86 - 06:30:27
  • Jose Arimany - position 102 - 06:47:05

You can see the video summary of yesterday's stage, where Albert has just arrived at the finished line

Today, the stage is longer than it was yesterday: 42,2Km. to cross the stretch from Coyungo to Samaca, and we still foresee a lot of soft sand and dunes.

Go Go Go Team! A big hug for Jose!
